Obudu Women Get Dr Ayade’s Pledge of Continued Support

Wife of Cross River State Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Linda Ayade has pledged continued support to the Obudu Women Development Association, Calabar branch. Dr. Ayade made the pledge recently at the Governor’s
Lodge, Calabar when members of the Association paid her a courtesy visit. the Governor’s wife who is also a member of the Association expressed thanks to the women for finding time to come and visit her and also condole with her on the demise of her Special Adviser, Mrs Rose Eneji who was a member of the group. the Governor’s wife said she was glad to receive them as well as associate with them as her women, mothers, sisters and support base who had always stood by her whenever the need arose, such as during the demise of Eneji and for their prayers, visits and contributions before, and during the burial
obsequies. She pledged to consider the issues raised by the women towards solving them apart from supporting them in any way she could to foster the association’s growth. The State’s First Lady used the occasion to inform them about the mega rally and empowerment program she planned for CRS
women early this February under the auspices of her Cross River Women Emancipation Initiative (CROWEI). She also appreciated the women for the items they donated to her in support of the Ayade campaign including, 150 campaign tee shirts, bags of salt, packets of maggi, tomatoes, amongst others, praying God to bless and replenish where ever they sourced these items. Also speaking, the President of OWDA, Calabar Branch, Mrs. Agnes Andor Andeshi thanked the Governor’s wife for granting them the audience and commended her and her spouse, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade for all the achievements
recorded in the state since they assumed office.

According to her, the Obudu women are very happy and are proud to have her as the mother of the state, adding that, as one of them and a member of the group, she has equally made them proud. Mrs. Andeshi maintained that the state’s first couple had done so much in touching the lives of Cross Riverians and that even before they assumed office, they had been reaching out to the needy thus praying God to
continue to bless and keep them. She said that the wisdom and knowledge God has given to them will
take them to greater heights and promised total support on behalf of the group for the return of
Senator Ayade as Governor, in the forthcoming election. In the same vein, Lady Josephine Ogar, Dr. (Mrs) Ugbe and Dr. (Mrs) Mary Agba also pledged their total support to Dr. Ayade in all her programs
especially at this electioneering campaign period while appealing to her to carry the group along during her campaign tour based on their willingness to work for her anytime.
