MOVEMENT OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS: Agbonlahor Comes to C’River , Inuwa Goes to NIPPS
As a fallout from President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent appointment of a new Inspector General of Police in acting capacity, the new helmsman, Adamu M. Abubakar has moved state commissioners of police around with Austin Agbonlahor appointed the new boss in Cross River State. Agbonlahor who was transferred from Plateau State replaces CP Hafiz Inuwa has since proceeded to Kuru near Jos, the Plateau State capital the for studies at the prestigious Nigeria Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPPS.
The new CP is a one-time commissioner in charge of Operations at the Force Headquarters, Abuja and also served as Director of Courses at the Nigerian Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State. He hails from Edo State, is a graduate of the University of Benin and a fellow of the National Defence College. This marks the second major shakeup in the Police hierarchy in the country after retirement of all the Deputy Inspectors General of Police and several other senior officers as well as the reposting of a number of other super cops.
